Meaning of our Name
The circumference of a circle is composed of 2 times π times the radius of the circle. So, if you have a circle with a radius of one, the circumference is 2π.
A radian can be defined as the angle that creates a section of the circumference that is equal to the radius. So, one revolution of this circle is equal to 2π (6.28) Radians.
Another way of measuring a circle is by degrees. There are 360 degrees in one revolution of a circle. This is because the system of degrees was developed by the Babylonians, who used a base-60 numbering system. They believed a circle to be similar to a hexagon. A hexagon has six sides, therefore, they decided to split the circle into 360 (60 times 6) parts, or degrees.
Every FIRST robotics team has a number; ours is 360
There are 360 degrees in a circle
360 degrees = 2π Radians
If you begin at 0 and travel around the circle 360 degrees or 2pi radians, you have made one Revolution of the circle. WE ARE THE REVOLUTION!!!
